Your Tasks

  • In this role you will initially familiarize yourself with methods and tools for Direct Operating Cost (DOC) calculation of different aircraft. This includes existing literature as well as software tools and experts’ opinions
  • From there, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to derive models and estimations for DOC calculation of future aircraft with a special focus on hydrogen powered aircraft
  • You will implement the developed ideas by integrating the derived models into a python tool and test the code
  • Finally, you will use the developed process to calculate DOC for a variety of different aircraft designs and integrate the cost calculation module into the overall aircraft design process

Your Profile

  • You are an enrolled university student (m/f/d) in the field of aerospace, mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Ideally, you already have experience with cost calculation methods or the economic environment of airlines.
  • You have proven skills in software development, preferably python
  • You show a strong interest in aircraft design and motivation to contribute to the future of aviation
  • Self-reliance, reliability and a high level of self-organization are among your strengths
  • You thrive in multidisciplinary, international teams and you’re eager to improve
  • You are proficient in English, both written and spoken
